A woman who eats, breathes, and lives in all things positive. Reed prides herself in creating this phenomenal movement from a movie plot. That is, Deina orchestrated a girls' trip consisting of 80 unfamiliar positive women from all walks of life to view the film Girl's Trip, and from there, she never looked back. Within weeks, that girls' trip became a positive and powerful non-profit 501(c)(3) women's organization established in 2017 and registered in NJ and NY PWST (Positive Women Standing Together).
The organization/sisterhood has rapidly grown and now consists of over 100 women; Reed works to bridge the gap between negative stereotypes of women everywhere. Through her vision and leadership, the organization presents events such as an annual brunch to encourage women to support each other's losses and celebrate their achievements. Attendees want an excellent production over exquisite dining and are urged to pack positively into the upcoming year.
Reed started an annual Field Day, Christmas sleepover, and other outstanding events.
PWST supports the annual Jersey City Cancer Walk, the city where Reed was born and raised. When she learned that some PWST members were battling Lupus, she refused to let them battle alone and encouraged the women to support the Lupis Walk.
The women of PWST have served women's shelters with handmade and purchased Easter baskets for displaced children to enjoy during the holiday. As an alternative to the traditional turkey distribution for Thanksgiving, Reed rented out a restaurant where PWST members cooked, served, and provided an evening of entertainment. These events were being done amongst themselves without any outside resources.
Reed's vision is to break the stigma that a group of women of color in one room can become a brawl or a distraction instead of a bonding experience.
PWST is the encouragement to be our best sleeves even in challenging times to attract but even leave a blessing behind for someone else.
Reed believes that United women stand firm. Her zeal to encourage others stems from her bold belief in God. She never negates her belief that with God, all things are possible. You can often quote her saying, "The goal is to be irreplaceable." Her passion is entertaining people into excellence and ensuring that her next move is always her best.
